What does a Logistics Supervisor do?
A Day in the Life of a Logistics Supervisor
05:30 โ You arrive at the warehouse just before the morning shift starts. After a brief handover from the night supervisor, you check team attendance and run through todayโs targets. Two new temps are on the roster: time for a quick briefing.
06:15 โ You walk the floor to verify safety and process readiness. A staging zone looks cluttered, so you redirect a few pickers and adjust the layout slightly. Already youโve prevented a delay.
07:30 โ A call comes in from inbound: a supplier arrived unscheduled. You step in to reassign a forklift and coordinate dock space, keeping disruption to a minimum.
09:00 โ Back at your desk, you update the shift dashboard and review KPIs from the past two days. Pick accuracy is dropping slightly. You plan a short training for the late shift to reinforce scanning procedures.
12:00 โ You join the daily meeting with operations and planning. A spike in outbound orders is expected next week. You suggest extra coverage and share your team’s overtime availability.
14:30 โ The afternoon shift starts. You hand off task lists and check inventory levels with the team lead. A new forklift driver needs guidance, you step in and walk the route together.
15:30 โ You wrap up the day by logging shift performance and safety notes, and preparing the handover for the evening supervisor. You leave knowing your team stayed on track, safe, and motivated.
