What does an orderpicker do?
A day in the life of an orderpicker
06:00 โ You start your shift with a team briefing. Todayโs goal: 1,200 outbound orders. You grab your handheld scanner and cart, then log into the system.
06:15 โ The scanner guides you through the warehouse. You follow your route, picking items for multiple orders. Each scan confirms accuracy, no room for mistakes.
08:30 โ After a short break, you switch zones. A batch of fragile products needs extra care in handling. You move slower, double-check quantities, and label everything precisely.
12:00 โ Lunchtime. You take a break with your team in the canteen.
13:00 โ Back to work. You support the packing department by moving completed picks to the loading zone. Later, you help with a return order โ rechecking it before restocking.
14:45 โ Before your shift ends, you clean up your zone, scan your final cart, and check off your performance score for the day.
15:00 โ Another productive shift completed: every box in the right place, right on time.
